Western Screech Owl

Scientific name

Megascops kennicottii

About my breed

The western screech owl is a small and stocky owl native to North and Central America, closely related to the European scops. They have somewhat square heads, almost no neck, and conspicuous ear tufts. The tail is short. Screech-Owls can be found in a variety of different habitats including deserts, all types of forests and wooded areas, shrublands, orchards, and suburbs. They are found more frequently at lower elevations.

About me

Chester was captive bred and needed a home. He is a cheeky chap who loves attention. He is approximately 3 years old and came to us at just 6 weeks of age. In his aviary he has a toy dinosaur and he takes it everywhere with him! It can be a bit of a challenge getting Chester out of bed and he likes to do as little as possible!
